雑務に時間がかかる - シドニー生活

HDRの雑務

Higher degree research studentはStaffと同じように扱われる事が多いことは以前にも書いたと思うけど、その分色々雑務も増える。日本語ならちょちょちょってすぐ終わるけど、これが英語となると腰が重くなる。本当にめんどいのです。ただ去年のMaster(Coursework)と今年のMaster(ResearchWork)の扱いの違いにもちろん嬉しさもあります。

最近だとこの3つ。

上から2つはやっと済。ラストのは締め切りがないからいまだにやってない。

1. Faculty指定のE-mail signature

先月送られてきて「Email signatureこのフォーマットに変えてね」と。これが資料の一部↓

面倒だとは思ったけど、いざ作ったらかなり満足。見せたいけど、ここに載せれないのが残念。

まずお気に入りなのが、自分専用の電話番号をもらっているのでそれを書けることが嬉しい。私はアレンジとして研究室の電話、Fax、携帯を書きました。あとは少しアレンジもしました。電話番号の前にマークをつけたり(T, F, M)とか。そして名前とメルアドは大学カラーに色を付けてみたり。他の先生も少しアレンジしてたり古い物をそのまま使っていたり。なのでアレンジは大丈夫と判断。

私には人生初の英語のEmail Signatureだからかなりテンション上がります。メールのたびにみてはかっこいいなぁと思う自分がいる。笑。外資系の会社の人には当たり前なのかも知れないけど、私には初の英語の署名は相当感動もの！

あー、そう来たか。「今回を逃すと今年は写真を掲示しませよ」という話。来年まで自分のHDRとしての写真は飾られない。これもさ日本なら「自分の写真が廊下に掲示してあろうとなかろうとそんな些細な事」って思うところが、留学生の私、この大切なアピールの場を逃すわけにはいかんぜよ。これがCabinet Photoのフォーマットです。
