「念のため情報シェアするね」ってことなんだけど、すぐにピーンときたよ。これは何かある。だって宛先の順がなんか違和感ある。
「Dear」の後、名前の順、巣立つ順だった(笑)
Kは9月卒業、私は来年？、Lは未定、M未定、ということです。
なんか自分がもうNEW STUDENTではいことを感じます。年齢も中堅だけどPhDStudentとしてもそこそこ中堅になってきちゃったよ。確かに最近聞かれることも増えてきた。
婆になるってこういうことなんだと思う。
巣立つ順で書かれたこのメール、いざリンクを開けると
スタッフ用のサイトへつながっていた。
私はたまたまカジュアルスタッフとして登録されているので入れたけど、このサイトは一般のHDRではみれません！
HDRが気軽にアクセスできない場所にめちゃくちゃ大事なことが書いてあるのよ！怒

HDR Thesis and Examinations
Thesis and Examination of Higher Degrees by Research Policy 2020
どうやら、HDRの修論・博論の最終試験のシステムが変わったみたい。
There have been changes to the Thesis and Examination of Higher Degrees by Research Policy 2015 which are substantially different, and require changes to the way in which faculties, supervisors and students approach the process of examination. A review of the PhD examination process, together with the requirements of theTEQSA Higher Education Standards Framework, and the recommendations of the Sydney Operating Model – HDR Support project, resulted in the following main actions:
- Clarification of language, actions and processes around the PhD examination;
- A reduction of the number of examiners for all doctoral examinations from three to two;
- Internal examiners may no-longer be used;
- Support of the HDR examination process through a technology solution, leading to better experience with quicker processing and fewer opportunities for human error.
The amended Thesis and Examination of Higher Degrees by Research Policy 2015 now accommodates these changes, in particular to the modes of examination: oral, exhibition and thesis-only.

もう少し具体的に書くと、
Mode of examination. Examinations of thesis can now be undertaken in one of three different modes, which are selected by the student and supervisor when a notice of intention to submit is provided.
The three modes of examination are:
Oral examination where the examiners consider the thesis, then meet with the student to discuss the thesis. The examination considers points of clarification of principles or detail in the thesis and assesses the contribution of the student to the content and presentation of the thesis.
Exhibition examination where the student presents a piece of creative art in either a gallery or performance setting to examiners; after which the examiners conduct an oral examination is conducted.
Thesis-only examination where each of the examiners provides a detailed report on the thesis; and the examination is based on the synthesis of these reports alone.
PhD試験は3パターンあるみたい！
博論+口頭試験、口頭+ビジュアライゼーション、博論のみ
いままでこういった情報は卒業生や卒業間近の学生から口頭で情報を得てきたので、今回初めて詳細を活字で確認することができた。こういう本物の情報って本当に貴重。何処に書いてあるのか不明なことの方が多い。今回だってスタッフのサイトに載ってるし(笑)
みんな薄々感じていると思うけど、
もちろん、私は3番目を選ぶよ！
今日Zoomでスーパーバイザーと話をしたときにちょうど卒業に向けた話題がでてて、私にとってはThesis-only examinationがベターなオプションだと言われたのだけど、
「何を言ってるの！ベストオプションよ！」
と言い返したらウケた(笑)
笑いをとったけど少し微妙な感じ。そうよね、片言の私が口頭試験受けたら間違いなく落ちる可能性あがる↑↑↑(笑)
ちなみにはスーパーバイザーと私で決めることができる（試験官選べるのは知らなかった～(笑)）。
Nominating examiners and mode of examination. A new clause which prescribes the process for nominating examiners has been added. Examiners must have sufficient international standing to evaluate the contribution of the thesis to the field of research to which it pertains; examiners must be free of any perceived or actual conflict of interest; the lead supervisor must have sought agreement from the examiners regarding the mode of examination; and an additional examiner may be proposed as a reserve.
Approving examiners. This clause sets new requirements for the number of examiners. The minimum number of examiners for each higher degree by research has been set at two, both of whom must be external. This criteria aligns with the TEQSA Higher Education Standards Framework.
これも早速今日のミーティングで話題に上がった。既に2名のExaminar候補があがりました。一応、まだ時間があるのでぼちぼちこれからぼちぼち絞り込んでいこうというところで今日のところは話合いは終了。
ちなみに1人は、私のPhDテーマ超ドンピシャな人です。昨日もその人の昔の論文読んでいたところ。来年の2月にどうしても行きたい学会のリーダーもしてます。しかも女性だよ！女性リーダーってヨーロッパぽいね。
ふふふ。そんな人に博論よんでもらえるのかと思うと光栄です！
スーパーバイザー曰く、このThesis and Examination of Higher Degrees by Research Policyに変更があるのは大事らしいです！

昨夜はタップビールをたくさんそろえているパブでお別れ会！
昨日は私を入れて5名！
「祝」になっている方々はいまcompletion letter待ちの方で、もう数か月以内に学位を取得します。おめでとうございま～す！
「PhD」の人はシドニーでPhDを取得し、いまは大学でteaching assistantしてます←これって超すごいことなんですよ！尊敬でしかない☆
「留」なってる人は私。しがない留学生の「留」であり、留年の可能性を秘めた「留」です。
バックグランドが違う人との交流は本当に面白い。お腹抱えて笑えるのは日本語が通じるからこそです！そしてみんなもちろん昭和生まれの年齢中堅、でも心は挑戦者・好奇心旺盛です。そうそう、うち2名は最近知り合った方、なんとこのブログの読者(笑)
人生、いろいろあるね！
