【Notice of intent to submit】
オンライン上で博論提出の手続きをします。この手続きによって、大学は卒業間近の学生をトラッキング出来るようになります。そして大学は博論のレビュアーの選定や依頼を開始します。
Four months before your latest date for submission, we will send you instructions on completing your Notice of Intent to Submit.
博論提出期限の4ヶ月前に大学から手続きを進めるように指示があります。
This outlines the date you plan to submit your thesis and needs to be completed three months before your expected submission date. You can lodge your notice using the Notice of intent to submit form.
私の場合、2022年2月28日(4年間)が博論提出期限なので2021年11月1日(期限4か月前)に大学から連絡がありました。実際にNotice of Intent to Submitを提出したのは2021年12月1日(卒業1か月前)←遅い？(笑)。

【Submit your thesis】
実際の提出方法ですがややアナログ。
クラウド上に博論（PDF）をアップロードし、大学の担当者へファイルのリンクを送ります。
You need to submit an electronic copy of your thesis to the Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Administration Centre.
CloudStorは使用したことがないのでこれが初めてのアクセス。
Log in to CloudStor, Select ‘○○’ in the list of providers, Log in with your UniKey and passwordCloudStor
オーストラリア、ニュージーランドの大学がリストになってました！
大学を選択しUni Keyでログインすると一瞬で自分のアカウントが作成できます。
Email your discipline contact from your University student email address
In the email title, include your student ID, family name, given names and faculty. Paste the link into the body of the email, no other information is required. Attach your signed Supervisor's Statement form (docx, 38KB)
自分のアカウントに博論（PDF）をアップロードし、アップロードした博論（PDF）のリンクをコピーして担当者へ連絡する。HDR向けの新しいシステムRECSが稼働開始となったけれど、まだまだsubmissionのプロセスは連動できてないみたいです！
博論の提出先（discipline contact）は4つに分かれています。
If you're a Higher Degree by Research student, contact HDRAC using the email for your Faculty/School:
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Sydney Law School
- Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning, The University of Sydney Business School, Faculty of Engineering, Sydney Conservatorium of Music
- Faculty of Medicine and Health
担当者のメールには博論（PDF）のリンクに加えてSupervisor's statement formも提出します。Supervisor's statement formは学生とスーパーバイザーの2名で作成するドキュメントです。
Supervisor's statement form（学生）：タイトル、学生番号、名前、博士論文（PDF）のリンクを記入。最後にDeclarationに署名・日付を記載します。
I understand that if I am awarded a higher degree for my thesis entitled “○○” being submitted herewith for examination the thesis will be lodged with the Library, in accordance with Clause 6.02 of the ○○ (Higher Degree by Research) Rule 2011 and that the thesis will be available for public use (that is, for local access). I understand that correspondence will be sent to the address on the ○○ system. I will maintain this address on MyUni as required.
Declarationには、学位授与後、博論が外部へ公開される旨が書かれています。local accessは「大学スタッフと学生の無料アクセス」を意味するそうです。実際に私はこの閲覧システムを利用して、卒業生3名の博論をダウンロードし、自分の博論の参考にしています。
Supervisor's statement form（スーパーバイザー）：Presentation of thesis, Ethics clearance, Responsibility for research, Nomination of examinersの４つのカテゴリーの質問に答えるだけ。ちゃんと指導できたか倫理的問題はないかなど指導教官としての仕事を確認するのが目的？にみえる。
【What happens next】
提出後の流れは、「Plagiarism detection software」→「Examination」といった感じ。
Once you submit your thesis, it will be checked for plagiarism and then distributed to the examiners for assessment.
盗作ソフトって日本ではまだまだマイナーみたいですが、私が所属する大学ではこれがスタンダードです。
全ての学生（学部生・大学院生）の課題・レポートは必ず盗作ソフトにかけ盗作がないことを確認した上で採点されます。このソフトがけっこう優秀で、本・論文・過去の学生が書いた全てのレポートと比較してくれます。このシステム画面を私は見たことがあるのですが「XXとYY％類似」とはっきり情報元・類似率・盗作を疑う文章をマーカーでハイライトしてくれます。ソフトの結果が表示されたまま採点をすることができるので、例え80％類似だったとしても、もちろん引用されていれば無視して採点をすることができます。でも無視できない場合ありますよね。例えば、学生が2年前に卒業した学生のレポートを丸パクリして名前だけを変えて提出すると「100％類似しています」。パクったことばれて学生はFail 決定。採点者はこのソフトで「ZZ％を超えた場合は盗作とみなす」という具体的な数字を基準にして評価します。
私の大学では入学時に「Plagiarism」についての講義オリエンテーションあります。Plagiarism定義や、Plagiarismをどう回避するかなど学ぶ事ができます。
ということでまとめると、
事前に博論提出日を大学へ連絡、
クラウドにデータをアップロード、
アップロードしたリンクを担当者へメール、
受理されたあとは盗作ソフトへかけられ、その後レビュアーへ原稿まわる。
審査の期間はケースバイケース！
